Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica First Impressions

August 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

Throughout my long otaku life there have been too many magical girl series that just really irritated me or confused me. Sailor moon I still do not grasp aside that they fought evil (the english dub still makes me laugh, there is also Precure which I only know from a deviant artist I follow; today all that changes as I watch Madoka Magica thanks to the help of my friend Cindaquil ❤ Beforehand I have heard good things about Madoka from Cindy, the girls each having their own issues and the story is a dark tale of girls risking their lives fighting witches for their wish (seems magical girl like), and then she tells me that some characters die o.O Magical Girls are Kill-able?

Bored out of my mind and with so much anime to catch up I got bored and started on an anime that I thought “Pretty wands and little girls” and I click the first episode of Madoka Magica. The first 5 minutes I am immediately in awe as I see a girl running in a place that quite resembles Alice in Wonderland with more acid and intensity, I was impressed with the art and detail of such a warped world, but not amazed. Going on longer I immediately get hooked when Kalafina plays and a lone magical girl is fighting a large unknown force while the powerless Madoka watches. I’m thinking “Shit this place is fucked up.” and for good reason, the buildings are floating and being thrown like poltergeist items and thrashing around this girl. At this point i’m amazed and entertained… until Madoka talks to /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ Kyubei the magical creature in which she is asked to form a contract in which she awakens from her dream. The Opening was… a kill joy for me since it sounded like any average magical girl anime with JPop and what not. I have known that implied nudity was normal in magical girls animes but Madoka still surprised me with a random lesbian implied touching XD The reason I continued watching it was the magical transformation in the opening (LESBIAN PORN!). Wrong was I to think that! but it kept me watching and thats what counts. So I continued on and I managed to find a heart for this series. Right now I’m on episode 3 if Madoka and I wish I wasn’t so picky and just got on this gravy train. The story is interesting, the combat against the deformities of witches is superb, and the art style is simply cute >w<

I’ve seen the fanart, now I’m watching the anime. I have much more anime to watch and my life to balance out but I will find a way! Until next we meet I will like to point out and say… How many guns can Mami fit under her skirt?

Fate Stay/Overload

Its been a while since I’ve last posted anything. one would assume that with my laptop up and running I would be able to post some anime related rant/praises or my Conquest yet I’ve been a bit negligent over this pet project. For the past few days I’ve been attempting to get a precious voice patch for a recent game that every otaku should jump on when they have a chance. Many of those out there remember the anime Fate Stay/Night but not many know that originally it was a pc game and PS2 fighter. Thanks to the contribution of my friend I have finally a completed voice patch and I can play the entire game with voices on @_@

So far from just playing this alone it seems like just clicking, but being a veteran of many sim games (mostly eroge) I am not really surprised nor disappointed. I am however thrown off by Saber’s talking voice and am in Euphoria for the first time just hearing the voice patch work! It took only half an hour to get the game installed and changed to english text, but to get the voice patch it took many days to find and when I did I had to download nonstop on low (cause of my friends) for 5 freaking days and when that finished I updated the Fate game and installed the voice program (which took 15 hours!!!). I’m irritated after that long, but Sabers calm cool voice as she asked if I was her master made my entire rage go away and I got enthralled in the story so far. I didn’t make it far… probably 5 minutes into it, but so far its a delightful game ^^

I will most likely balance out gaming and anime, I have to finish .Hack//Sign and therefor I can’t multitask a game and anime, but for now while I’m home or at the public library where internet might as well be a deadzone I’ll mess around with it. Until then, good luck and may fortune smile upon you!

**Update** I have decided that I will do a Fate Stay Night Conquest in the following weeks so be sure to follow me every step of the way. I wish I could record myself playing this game but I don’t know. I’ll decide if I want to put the effort in recording and post this up on my facebook or something and have a link on here. .-. It’ll all be so much fun once I get down to it. Who knows~

It’s Alive!!!

My laptop battery has arrived a few days ago and I must say I am proud that I got it. Sadly I messed my laptop up a bit by having me and my friend Adam, open my poor Layla open, stripping her of her plastic cover and revealing her oh so naked mother board in an attempt to clean out the fan a bit (yes I made that face XD Right…>.0). It not only was an annoying surgical bother of unscrewing her open and saving each screw in a baggie, it was difficult trying to reach the damn fan. After a bit of struggle we made the realization that I only have one fan .-. So hot that it brought flashbacks of my loins cooking under long hours of surfing the web, even the keyboard was hot that it made my fingers sweat, and all because I only had one fan to keep Layla from overheating in Heater Fever (Not to be confused with Beiber Fever).

Anyways, my laptop is back but she has gotten a bit messed up in the head with amnesia. My stuff is still there, but I cant get wifi to work and there are some screws missing. Not wanting to risk having her malfunction I plan on getting her fixed up at my city college, get some screws replaced, fix the wifi, buy Windows 7, and a new antivirus software and all hopefully for under 200-300 dollars minimum .-. Good luck for me… I do however plan on getting a new laptop and ressurect my Layla into a new body and l33t her up with my cu5tomiz4tion5. She will be beautiful sometime in the following year before anime expo.

The bad news is that I won’t use my laptop and my hiatus is still going for my Anime Conquest (even though I’m watching .Hack//Sign). The good news is all my eroge I have installed and the copious amounts of anime fandom is still safe and sound in my beautiful Nexus of a laptop hard drive. I will hopefully back these up onto my desktop and finish my torrents but until then you all will have to wait… until then settle for Hitoha’s “Rape Face” Bye Bye Byi! ❤

Ditch the Body! A Mitsudomoe Rant/Praise

So with my busy week coming to a close (soon hopefully) and my laptop coming soon this week or next, I have decided to watch .Hack//Sign on dvd at my friends… but I have not finished it therefor it is not relevent (psych!). I will however indulge you into the rabbit hole of anime fandom and talk about a lovely anime called “Mitsudomoe”

Mitsudomoe is the incarnation anime fandom about 3 little girls called the Marui triplets (from eldest to youngest), Mitsuba, Futaba, and Hitoha. The anime starts out with Satoshi Yabe, a new teacher coming to teach a 6th grade class, happy and giddy over his first job his expectation is later crushed by his class and these 3 sisters who give him everlasting problems. The class is one of the worst in the school and its up to Yabe sensei to teach this class of below average students. Though this class has its issue the entire show is a comedy with no real plot, that however does not make it enjoyable.

The art is well done aside from the characters (which makes me cringe). The kids have baby faces and the adults have… baby faces as well >.0. I mean its kinda creepy to try to enjoy the show and I get flashbacks to Lucky Star (which makes me feel like a pedophile every time i try to sit down and watch). I mean really it is uncomfortable for those who aren’t used to loli art styles but you’ll get over it eventually.

The show however makes up for all the cons with many pervertive puns and innuendos. Think of it as a show full of dick jokes told by kids who don’t understand the joke? Its just funny to watch their minds squirm at the thought and cause trouble for the adults in the show. My favorite moment in Mitsudomoe **SPOILER ALERT** is where they have an earthquake drill and Yabe-Sensei gets the attention of the class by being enthusiastic about the drill and shaking his desk side to side vigorously without knowing that little Hitoha is under the desk and is Knocked Out in the process; as for what happens after its a must watch.

The characters are funny as well. Yabe Sensei is your typical Otaku (nerd) who still loves a power rangers knockoff called Gachi Rangers. Hitoha who is my favorite character, reads porn mags in her class and loves Gachi rangers… thing is when she’s mad she has a grudge-esque air to her that scares others into submission. And if you’ve played Street Fighter Futaba reminds you of a kiddy version of Ryu, an Athletic nut with bear like strength (and an obsession for boobs). There is also a character named Saito who is super popular with the girls but hates his popularity; its funny watching him get into odd predicaments and be called a pervert. This anime has everything a comedy should have and really is funny and interesting to watch.

To close this off Mitsudomoe may be difficult to watch but with all the parody’s and jokes it makes its well worth the time to sit down and watch. Feeling down is never a problem when you can laugh at the characters. I wholly recommend this anime to anyone who would take the time to watch it.

Now before you go here is Hitoha and her grudge face!
